Masterplan Science Park Amsterdam, The Netherlands

IADP-Partner KCAP designed the masterplan for the science park Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Science Park is a new type of scientist rein in Watergraafsmeer, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Amsterdam. To the already existing buildings from the Netherlands Organisation for scientific research (NWO), the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and the starters organization ASP (Amsterdam Science Park) are faculty buildings, research institutes, University facilities and homes added. The historic polder structure offers a simple design principle with exibility for variation and development. In contrast to the image of the traditional campus with solitary buildings in the Green, is set up as a network Science Park. A system of semi-public meeting places in and between the buildings, is connected by a public tissue that extends over the whole area.
