UNStudio, founded in 1988 by Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos, is an international architectural design studio specializing in architecture, interior architecture, product design, urban development and infrastructural projects. The name, UNStudio, stands for United Network Studio, referring to the collaborative nature of the practice. UNStudio’s main base of operations is located in Amsterdam, with two full-service sister offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
As a network practice, a highly flexible methodological approach has been developed which incorporates parametric designing and collaborations with leading specialists in other disciplines. UNStudio has worked on a broad range of projects, including developing a fascination for the integrated design of campus developments and science park projects. With a network approach UNStudio can set-up multidisciplinary teams from early stages onwards in order to create an efficient and integrated working process. This dynamic nature of the practice enables the exploration and design of innovative design concepts and the successful realization of large scale Office Campus Developments, Science Parks and R&D Innovation Areas.
